After months of speculation, San Antonio Spurs fans finally got the answer to a question many had wondered: how tall is star Victor Wembanyama? While he was officially listed at 7'3", video and photo evidence suggested that he was actually much taller.
Now, with NBA Media Day over, the Spurs have officially updated his height, and he has indeed gotten taller. According to the Spurs, he is now listed at 7'4. It's worth mentioning that that is without shoes, meaning that he is technically 7'5.
Vic Wembanyama is officially listed at 7-4 after being listed last season at 7-3.

Victor Wembanyama is officially the tallest player in the NBA
With the height increase, Wembanyama is now officially the tallest player in the NBA. Hopefully, soon, he'll also be the best player in the NBA too.
The increase in height should only help Wembanyama on the floor. There have been few instances where players get taller during their careers. Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo comes to mind.
He grew several inches early in his career, helping his ascent. Wembanyama is already a superstar, and him being even taller could help him on both sides of the ball.
A taller Victor Wembanyama could be a game changer for the Spurs
Wembanyama has gained 40 pounds since he was drafted, with him hopefully now able to hold his position in the post. Getting good post position could lead to more scoring in the paint, more free throws, and also drawing more double teams, leading to more open looks for other Spurs players.
Whether they can hit them is something entirely different, but it could be a game changer for the Spurs offense. No chance teams would risk guarding him with single coverage if Wembanyama can make full use of his newfound height and weight.
His jumper could also get an added boost. It was already tough enough for opponents to challenge his shots, but that could be especially true now.
Defensively, it stands to reason that if he got taller, he may have gotten longer too. He already boasts a condor-like 8'0 wingspan, and him having more height and length could make him all the more dangerous defensively.
He's led the NBA in blocks per game and total blocks over the last two seasons. He even led the league in a hilariously titled HELLLNAHS stat, with him often forcing opponents to turntail and run from him when in the paint.
All told, his offensive game and impact as a rim protector should be even better with him taller this season. The Spurs should hope so, with them hoping to contend going forward.
