Kawhi Leonard, in San Antonio Spurs attire, was spotted in New York City.

Most San Antonio Spurs fans did not see Kawhi Leonard, except for nine games that did not feature him playing significant time on the court. It stemmed from a right quadriceps injury that occurred before the preseason.

A recent Leonard update had him in New York, rehabbing the quad away from the team. Although, it was apparently a collaborated plan.

Well, for anyone that doubted it, Leonard is indeed in New York City. Someone posted a six-second video of the 26 year old in the Big Apple, wearing Spurs gear. There’s just enough of a glimpse to decipher that it’s him in the vide, along with uncle Dennis Robertson, according to KSAT.com.

Does Leonard in Spurs attire mean anything? Maybe. Maybe not. Given the silence from both player and organization in the 2017-18 season, until someone speaks or provides clarity, take this visual with a grain of salt.

This only told fans that Leonard is in New York, providing truth to previous reports. Since this notion arose at the end of March, it means he has been away for nearly one month. However, this stay could end soon.

Leonard’s status will be one of the NBA’s biggest topics of the 2018 offseason. A $219 million contract extension looms for him, and if that does not happen, the Spurs can potentially trade their superstar.

What if neither a trade or extension happen? That leaves Leonard in San Antonio to start the 2018-19 season before likely declining his 2019-20 player option and hitting free agency.

There are variables at play with Leonard and the Spurs, and no one on the outside knows how will this result. Uncertainty provides intrigue, and intrigue provides a compelling storyline to follow in the NBA’s Wild West period of its season. Did all of it just disappear with some team gear, though?
