This is the perfect teacher/student pairing.

Spurs fans haven't seen Victor Wembanyama in weeks. He was showing up to games, sitting on the bench to support his teammates for a while after being ruled out for the year due to a diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) but that stopped after long. Wembanyama was even thought to be overseas due to the announcement of his surgery being reported by French reporter Maxime Aubin.

However, the Alien is still in San Antonio, Texas and he was spotted at the championship game of the NCAA Tournament between Houston and Florida. Vic was sporting a new look as he took in the game sitting next to Rockets legend Hakeem Olajuwon. Seeing the two together immediately sparked ideas in the minds of Spurs fans everywhere and we were all likely thinking the same thing.

Wembanyama would be unstoppable with Hakeem's moves

Hakeem Olajuwon is one of the best centers in NBA history. His endless bag of post moves and elite footwork allowed him to score on anyone, making them look foolish in the process. There aren't many bigs who have a respectable case for being better than Tim Duncan, but Hakeem is a player who at the very least has an argument. (I'd disagree, but I respect the opinion)

He didn't lead his team to the same number of titles as Timmy D, but championships aren't the only way and often aren't the best way to evaluate players. My favorite method of comparing players is a simple eye test and if you watched Olajuwon play, you'd understand why Wembanyama should be clamoring to become a student in the School of The Dream. (I just made that up)

As Spurs fans have been made aware against their will, Shaq doesn't pay much respect to the big men in this era. But he does revere the great players he either played against or came before him. Hakeem was a monster before Shaq entered the league and continued to put in work after The Diesel arrived.

The Rockets center was one of the few guys who would put O'Neal through the torture chamber when he was forced to guard him. Hakeem was a defensive force too, but Wembanyama has that in spades.

There are always things to learn, but what he should really focus on is developing the footwork to get favorable positioning no matter where you are on the court. Whoever is guarding him shouldn't matter either. He's too big and skilled for that.

Wembanyama had his season cut short by the blood clot, but he could come back better than ever after a few sessions with Hakeem. Adding an unstoppable post game to his evolving skill set would be a dream come true for Spurs fans.
