Wembanyama's most savage quote yet will only make opponents' nightmares scarier

We couldn't ask for anything more.

Tim Duncan was a quiet assassin. He didn't do much talking on the court, and in postgame interviews, he was pretty buttoned up. He wasn't going to rock the boat or go viral because of something he said to the media. But it's a new day in San Antonio, and Victor Wembanyama is a man of many words. He provides us with banger quote after banger quote, and he did it again last night.

Wembanyama isn't about to lead the league in blocks by a country mile for the third consecutive year by accident. He's a dog on defense, and if he sees ball, he gets ball. It's very simple, yet extremely satisfying to watch on a nightly basis. He takes rim protection seriously, and Spurs fans thank their lucky stars every day that he's wearing a silver and black uniform.

When you're the grim reaper of blocked shots, everyone is going to try to get one over on you. It comes with the territory. Unfortunately, that means every time Vic is in the vicinity of an opponent flushing one down, people are going to lose their minds with "he got dunked on" takes.

Bam's dunk was far from a poster on Wemby

I live by simple rules: I only want one cream and two Splendas in my coffee, getting crossed over doesn't matter if they don't make the shot, and dunks aren't posters if the defender isn't in front of the offensive player. It was a great play from Bam Adebayo, and it was an awesome dunk, but he beat Wemby to the spot and got the dunk off before Vic could get a real contest.

Wembanyama's amazing quote doesn't change my opinion on this. I don't expect him to go back and forth with the media about what qualifies as getting dunked on and what doesn't. What he said is still a statement of fact as long as he holds true to it. He's going to go after blocks relentlessly, and that means sometimes he's going to get dunked on. Don't get desperate for it and look like this, though.

The poster of this one was obviously joking, but it's also laughable that people are calling the Bam play a poster over the towering Frenchman. When I pushed back, I was told by several people that there is a difference between being dunked on and getting posterized. That sounds like a BS word salad to me, but it really doesn't matter. The Spurs got another win, and they're 5-0 for the first time in team history. How about that?
