Houston Rockets fans should cover their eyes for this one. Victor Wembanyama just dumped a bunch of photos of his summer on Instagram, and among the epically cool pictures was one of him and Hakeem Olajuwon drenched in sweat in what looks to be a basketball gym. This is exactly what Spurs fans have been hoping to see, and San Antonio's franchise star isn't disappointing.

It's a continuation of the journey to improve that we know Vic is all about. He understands the talents bestowed upon him, and he wants nothing more than to make the most out of them. He spent time with Monks in Asia, worked out with Kevin Garnett, and now we see he's also been under the tutelage of The Dream.
It's one of the best developments you could hope for if you're a Spurs fan. Last season, Vic shot 454 two-pointers, compared to 403 threes. That's a little too close to right down the middle for someone so large. The hope is that with added strength and training, he can dominate the paint more, because he absolutely should be able to do that.
Wembanyama is already a problem in the paint
Not all of his shots will be in the painted area, but a large portion should be, since he shot 68% from that range. Sometimes, basketball is simple that way. What comes next from defenses would be pretty obvious, as they'd scramble double and triple teams in an effort to make him uncomfortable, so he'll give up the rock.
That's why early positioning is important. If Wembanyama can get to the right spot before catching the ball, it makes scoring quicker and easier. But he can also make them pay with the midrange jumper, and who better to help him develop an understanding of its importance than Kevin Garnett? KG was a mid-range specialist.
Wembanyama collecting all of these skills from the greats before him is like Thanos collecting infinity stones. Except you won't be able to go back in time to stop the destruction that's coming.
We knew that Vic wanted to work with Olajuwon, but we weren't certain that it would actually happen. Months ago, The Dream told an interviewer that the 7'4" Frenchman asked about working out together. The Rockets legend said he told Wemby that he has "everything and more." That's not what Spurs fans wanted to hear at the time. We wanted confirmation that training sessions would be taking place.
Well, now we have our confirmation. That's really unfortunate for everyone else, but it's awesome for San Antonio.
