This kid just never stops pushing the limit. Every piece of news that comes out about him serves to build his legend to ridiculous heights and at a back-breaking pace. The Spurs first two preseason games have made one thing clear: the time for slow growth is over. They've played hard on both sides of the ball, showing a determination to win and it starts with their big man.

There's no need to rehash how last season went regarding wins and losses. Everyone knows the standards have elevated, and expectations are through the roof. But the expectations referenced come from inside the building. The belief they have in each other has been driving them to put the work in, and Victor Wembanyama wasted no time walking the walk when the summer began.

Wembanyama may need someone to slow him down

You have to understand something; Wembanyama was in the middle of a whirlwind for over a year. His FIBA play before he arrived wasn't long before his draft. He had a couple of months to get ready for the year, but then it's an 82-game season for a 7'4" rookie and Olympic competition right after. To spend the time between the Olympics and the regular season working out so intensely is madness.

They say there's no rest for the weary, but that's usually when heavy burdens are thrust upon a person and responsibility takes hold. Nothing is being forced on the French phenom. His inner drive to be great churns at a rate butter makers envy.

For those unaware, two-a-days are exactly what they sound like. You have two intense workout sessions in one day. They were a very popular way to run training camps across sports for decades, but in recent years, their utilization has decreased significantly. More efficient training methods have emerged and organizations have become more cautious with the health of players.

Wemby has already made it clear that he has a strong desire to represent France, so playing in the summer is something Spurs fans will just have to expect from the franchise star. He seems to be on an 'all gas, no brakes' mission to reach his peak. It will be the responsibility of his camp and the coaching staff to slow him down occasionally to let his body rest.

We want Wembanyama around for a long time. At least they're aware of the challenges he faces with a body so large. Despite that, he's still putting in an incredible amount of work, and it's refreshing to know he's not taking his gifts for granted. He's coming for every accolade imaginable, and the fans expect to be rooting for him the whole way.
