There's nothing better than seeing a superstar respond to their biggest critics. That's exactly what Victor Wembanyama did in San Antonio's 118-91 Game 6 victory. He scored 28 points on 10-21 shooting, along with 10 rebounds and three blocked shots.

This was the perfect bounce-back after a troubling display from him and the Spurs a few nights ago. The Frenchman notched 20 points on inefficient shooting, making just four out of his fifteen shot attempts. There was even a controversial postgame moment where he refused to speak to the media.

The best players know how to take a look in the mirror after rough moments like this and gather themselves to come back even stronger. If you needed more proof of Victor's superstardom, look no further than tonight.

Wemby set the tone early on the offensive end

Victor Wembanyama's first-half performance included one of his most impressive scoring displays in this year's postseason. He was electric to get things started, showing off a blend of elite off-the-catch and self-created three-point jumpers along with some confident mid-range buckets.

This is exactly what the Spurs needed from their superstar. In an elimination game, the stakes are as high as they can get, so you must do your work early. Wemby's hot start got the Spurs going and kept the Thunder in position to play from behind for the majority of the game.

Victor's first-half scoring barrage also gave us a peek at the player he can become in the future. Critics have been vocal about how important it is for him to sharpen his shot creation as his career progresses, and he showed flashes of that tonight.

Victor's defense was elite in Game 6

The NBA's first unanimous DPOY had yet another elite performance on that end of the floor. He blocked three shots and also had two steals in the Spurs' win.

Per usual, he played the biggest part in San Antonio's interior defensive domination. They held OKC to just 38 points in the paint, limiting easy finishes around the basket. That was one bright spot from the previous game that they were able to bring into tonight.

The MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored just 15 points tonight. Now, a lot of that was due to San Antonio's elite perimeter defense, but Wemby's presence was another reason. SGA is the league's premier downhill driver, but he couldn't get to this part of his game much because of Victor's world-renowned rim protection.

This entire postseason, Victor's been dangerous after a loss. Tonight's performance was just a continuation of that trend. But the Spurs need him to carry the same energy we saw tonight into Game 7 if they want to punch their ticket to the NBA Finals.
