David Jones-Garcia and Riley Minix, come on down. The Spurs need to sign these guys to standard contracts ASAP. There's no way they should let either of those guys go after what they've shown the past couple of years. Both players were putting in work in the G-League last year, and they've picked up where they left off in the Summer League.

The Silver and Black knocked off the Utah Jazz in what was the most exciting game of the SL so far. It was an overtime game where fans saw Dylan Harper stay poised enough to make the game-tying bucket in the clutch to force OT, despite not playing well for most of the night. It was a complete team win with success not possible without the guys sticking together.
Harrison Ingram drilled three shots from the Rio Grande River on six attempts, scoring 15 points, and grabbing 14 rebounds while adding six assists to his night. Harper had 16 points on shaky shooting, but he kept rolling. Dexter Dennis added 10 on 3/4 from the field, but Jones-Garcia and Minix stole the show, and they need to be on the official roster when October rolls around.
Spurs should look no further for free agents
Minix only played three games in the G-League last season before he was injured and ruled out for the year, but in those contests, he averaged 13 points on 50% from the field and 44% from three. He's not a player you'll expect to go off for big numbers. He's a role player. If that efficiency translates to the pro team, he'd be one of the best other guys in the NBA.
Jones-Garcia got a full season of G-League experience, where he averaged 24 points per game. He shot 48% from the field as a 6'6" guard. That's exceptional. He only shot 35% from three, but he's only 23. That can improve. It has so far in the SL.
in 6 Summer league games. David Jones Garcia has 141 points in 150 minutes. He's shooting 64.5% from 3, and is averaging 23.5 ppg.

If he hovers around league-average from deep, he's proven himself to be a certified bucket-getter. The Spurs could use one of those.

The NBA always has guys who enter games to provide instant offense, and that's who DJG is. He stands to build himself into a better version of Gary Neal, Patty Mills, and Jonathon Simmons. San Antonio just traded away Malaki Branham and Blake Wesley for Kelly Olynyk, so they can stand to add one more guard, as they only have four right now.
There are rumors that the Spurs are still open for business. If that's the case, I could see them trading Keldon Johnson to open up minutes for Carter Bryant and Riley Minix. They'd still have plenty of depth, and they'd be able to field lineups without any weaknesses with scoring, playmaking, and defense all over the roster. In any case, sign them ASAP. They deserve to be here.
