From securing Victor Wembanyama with the number one overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft to trading for dependable veterans like Reggie Bullock, Cam Payne, and Cedi Osman, the San Antonio Spurs are having one of the busiest offseasons in franchise history. Gregg Popovich and company are on the verge of turning the page on a brand-new chapter of Spurs basketball, hoping their 7-foot-3 cornerstone can guide them to the prolonged success of his Hall of Fame predecessors. Though the NBA already revealed the regular season will open on October 24th, no other details have been unveiled. So when can we expect the league to release official schedules?

The NBA dropped their regular-season schedule on July 19th last season, and considering we are a full week past that date, it seems like we'll have to keep twiddling our thumbs for a little longer. While there is no concrete answer for when the 2023-24 schedule will arrive, our friends at Vivid Seats put together some useful information that offers hoop heads much-needed context about the situation.

"It's likely that the NBA schedule will be released between Aug. 16-20. In the late 2000s, the NBA schedule release date was in the first week of August, before moving to Aug. 10 in 2010. The following year, the league moved up the schedule announcement date to July 19, the earliest it's been in the last decade-plus. "

Sitting tight for another month isn't too bad, and Spurs fans have plenty to look forward to as the rest of the summer unfolds. The FIBA World Cup tips off on August 25th, training camp opens on October 3rd, and San Antonio starts their preseason schedule on October 13th. The dawn of a new era is right around the corner, so buckle up for what is sure to be a compelling campaign for the Silver and Black.
