There's just over a month left before the NBA regular season starts back up, and it can't come soon enough. It's not just that there's not much to talk about; it's the excitement for what's coming. The Spurs are in a great position to grow, and the speed at which that happens is unknown. That's exhilarating for a fan base who can have full confidence in the front office's ability to get things done the right way for the long-term benefit of the franchise.

A lot of that confidence is rooted in the presence of Victor Wembanyama, as it should be. He's turned out to be better than advertised, and watching him match up against the best players in the league has been a treat. Wemby has shown that he'll rise to the challenge more often than not when one of the NBA's best is in front of him, and that's led to the excitement for several rematches and some of them have been discussed, but there are a few that have been underrated thus far.

There's a lot for Spurs fans to look forward to this season

Trail Blazers: Scoot Henderson - November 7

When Scoot and Wemby were entering the draft, everyone knew the number one overall pick would be Victor Wembanyama. Regardless, Henderson held out hope that an organization would see him as the premier pick in the class. He didn't have the rookie year he wanted, not even finishing in the top-6 for Rookie of the Year. He'll undoubtedly be looking to prove himself in his sophomore season, and there's no better way to make a statement than to show out against the league's darling.

Bucks: Giannis Antetokounmpo - January 8

Everyone remembers the Milwaukee game. It was January 4. Wembanyama's 20th birthday, and he was lining up against Giannis for the first time in his career. The game was easily one of the best of the NBA season, as Wemby and the Greek Freak went toe to toe, basket for basket. The shot block heard 'round the world had fans losing it all over the world, but unfortunately, the game ended in a loss. The universe needs a rematch, and Wemby needs his revenge.

Hornets: Brandon Miller - February 7

Wembanyama has already reached a place where fans are mostly excited to see him match up with the NBA elites like Anthony Davis and Nikola Jokic, but his draft class has players that fans should enjoy him dominating. Brandon Miller falls into that category. As the second-overall pick in Wemby's draft, they'll forever be linked, but that connection should be rooted in Vic's dominance of the matchup, and not many sports fans dislike dominating their opponents.

It's an 82-game season, so there's plenty to look forward to. But don't forget about these matchups because potential fireworks are waiting in the wings.
