Social media creates hilarious Wembanyama video anticipating dominance

Victor Wembanyama entered his rookie season with immense expectations and somehow exceeded them. San Antonio Spurs fans couldn't be happier with the growth the French Alien showed during his inaugural campaign in the NBA. Saying 'the sky is the limit' doesn't feel quite adequate to express what this kid is capable of. Still, after images surfaced showing Wembanyama working out with ball-handling savant Jamal Crawford, someone took to NBA2K to showcase what Victor's next iteration might look like.

Wembanyama can shock the world

Sometimes, you forget that despite the amazing performances from Wembanyama last season, he was still limited in minutes for a large portion of the year. Hopefully, he'll be let off the leash a little more as a sophomore because the advanced analytics show that, given more time, Vic may outshine the sun.

Towards the end of the year, the Spurs were putting a top-five defense on the floor when Wembanyama was on the court. If they can continue that trend while improving offensive consistency and bench production, San Antonio can shock the league next season. It is not normal to leapfrog a bunch of teams when you are coming off of a stinker, but nothing about an athletic 7'4 point-center with elite touch is normal.

Everything will depend on how aggressive Pop and the front office want to be this offseason. Building a sustainable core is paramount to the organization but there are multiple ways to do that. You already have a strong core of young players with Wembanyama, Devin Vassell and Jeremy Sochan. Granted, they take the expected leaps next season, slow rolling progress would be a choice and not one that's necessary for long-term success.
