When can Spurs fans expect City Edition shorts for purchase?
By Josh Paredes
San Antonio Spurs fans were treated to the release of the Nike City Edition jerseys Monday morning, but they'll have to wait longer to buy the matching white shorts.
Fans scrambled to the fan shop upon release of the jerseys, with those of Joshua Primo, Devin Vassell, and Dejounte Murray being the first ones to temporarily sell out before being restocked. While many were able to snatch up the newly debuted gear, fans also noticed the absence of the highly-coveted white shorts for sale.
"The shorts are hands down the best in the league," wrote Air Alamo's Kyle Forson in his column grading the new line.
Unfortunately, fans may have to wait at least a few more weeks to get their hands on the shorts.
"They said they haven't been able to get them due to "supply chain," said a Spurs fan after asking at the official Spurs' Fan Shop at the AT&T Center.
As of now, no shorts are listed on the Spurs City Edition section of the Spurs' fan shop but the shop at Fanatics.com has a black version of the new edition shorts available in youth sizes.
It's unclear for certain why there's such a big delay between the release of the jerseys and shorts, but hopefully production can clear up a bit earlier. It would be wise to have such an in-demand product be made available before the holiday season.
Until then, Spurs fans will just have to wait to see the shorts on the Spurs' Fiesta Nights, with the next one coming against the Boston Celtics on November 26th.
Despite the shortage of shorts, the full City Edition collection is definitely worth a look, as you can find new editions of everything from magnets and flags to pullovers and caps bearing the fresh color design.
