The San Antonio Spurs are less than two weeks from hitting the hardwood, and team events will be ramping up soon.

Following a third straight losing season by posting a 34-48 record, the Silver and Black are widely expected to have one of their worst seasons in decades after moving on from Derrick White and Dejounte Murray earlier this year.

While Spurs fans still have plenty to look forward to in this developmental season, the team itself will be trying to prove their doubters wrong in the face of uphill battles on almost a nightly basis. Big things are expected from the team's next men up -- Keldon Johnson and Devin Vassell, a duo that has a combined five years of NBA experience.

Before the month is over, we'll get our first peek at the new-look Spurs and hear what they have to say ahead of the 2022-23 NBA season.

San Antonio Spurs Media Day date, information

According to NBA insider Marc Stein (subscription required), 26 of the NBA's 30 teams will be holding their Media Day on Monday, September 26th, 2022. This group includes the Spurs, as four teams -- the Hawks, Bucks, Wizards, and Warriors -- will be holding theirs earlier before their overseas preseason games.

Unlike several other teams around the league like the Suns, Nets, and Lakers, the Spurs' Media Day will certainly be free of any drama stemming from offseason antics or scandals. I'd expect to hear from Gregg Popovich about his upcoming 27th season with the club, as well as his thoughts on the remarkable WNBA championship Becky Hammon just won in her debut season.

Media Day will begin at 11 a.m. ET at the Spurs practice facility.

San Antonio Spurs Training Camp information

According to NBA.com, league training camps officially open the following day, on September 27th, 2022. Expect some roster battles to ensue beginning at training camp, as the Spurs will need to trim their roster from its current 20 players to 17 by the time the season starts on October 19th. San Antonio's training camp will run from Sept. 2 - Oct. 2.
