Spurs vs Bulls game preview: injury report, history in the making
The San Antonio Spurs (3-2) tip off against the Chicago Bulls (3-2) at 7:30pm CST later today in San Antonio. The Spurs went a shocking 3-1 on their recent road trip with wins in Indiana, Philadelphia, and Minnesota and hope to break the .500 mark at home. The Bulls, and DeMar DeRozan in particular, are chasing history, as he is just seven points short of cementing himself as the 50th greatest scorer in NBA history, and doing it in San Antonio would be pretty cool.
Through five games this season, DeRozan is fifth on the NBA's MVP Ladder. While I would like the Spurs to win at home, I think it would be cool if the second act in DeRozan's career is defined by the time he spent in San Antonio and the growth he had there.
The Spurs will be rocking it out tonight in style, breaking out their statement edition jerseys for the first time this season. We've now seen all the threads aside from the much-anticipated teal, so hopefully, the Spurs can go on a tear and make a...statement at home.
San Antonio Spurs vs Chicago Bulls odds, spread, over/under
The Spurs are a five-point underdog to the Bulls at home, and the moneyline sits at +180 for San Antonio and -215 for the visiting Bulls. The over/under is 230.5, which seems right on the money, given that the two teams have combined to average 229.2 points per game this season.
Spurs starting lineup tonight
Thanks to reoccuring injuries, expect the Spurs to trot out the same five from Wednesday's loss to Minnesota: Tre Jones, Josh Richardson, Keldon Johnson, Jeremy Sochan, and Jakob Poeltl.
Spurs injury report
Once again the San Anontio Spurs will be wihout Devin Vassell (knee) and Josh Primo (glute). For Chicago, Lonzo Ball remains out due to surgery and Zach LaVine, also with a knee injury, will be a game-time decision.
San Antonio Spurs vs Bulls predictions
Honestly, with LaVine and Ball probably out, I think the Spurs can win this game. With no Vassell, DeMar DeRozan could easily drop 35 points, but I think the Spurs will hold on to win, 115-110. There is not much defense on either team, sans Jakob Poeltl and Jeremy Sochan, but most of Chicago's offense is done outside of the paint, anyway.
What channel are the Spurs on?

Spurs next game and travel time
On Sunday night, the Spurs once again play the Minnesota Timberwolves, this time in Texas. WIth a full day of rest and no travel, this could be another victory for the Spurs.
Air Alamo lock of the night
BetMGM offers the 230.5 over at -110 odds, which seems too good to pass up. The Spurs have the eighth best scoring, shoot 35.2% from deep as a team, and are just about average in terms of field goal percentage. If LaVine plays, he is coming off a 28 point preformance. DeRozan has reason to put up points, and Popovich is a sap at heart who might let him. Sochan is starting to get into scoring form for San Antonio, and Keldon Johnson continues to put up career numbers. I'm taking the over tonight.
