Is LeBron James playing tonight? Latest injury update for Spurs vs Lakers Feb. 23
By Will Eudy
The San Antonio Spurs will be taking on the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena on Friday night. Coming off the All-Star break, both teams will be playing on the second night of a back-to-back.
The Lakers took on the Spurs twice in three nights during the second week of December earlier this season. In the first meeting, Los Angeles took home a close victory with LeBron James out of the lineup. Two nights later, San Antonio returned the favor and picked up a win with Anthony Davis sitting out.
Friday will be the third and final meeting between the two teams this season, and it will determine who wins the season series. After the Lakers' game on Thursday, there are still questions about whether LeBron James will play.
LeBron James' status for tonight's game vs Spurs
LeBron James (ankle) is questionable against the Spurs on Friday.
After missing the Lakers' Thursday night contest with the Golden State Warriors due to a left ankle issue, James will "in all likelihood" be back against San Antonio, per The Athletic's Lakers reporter Jovan Buha.
Anthony Davis' status for tonight's game vs Spurs
Anthony Davis (Achilles, hip) is available against the Spurs on Friday.
Victor Wembanyama's status for tonight's game vs Lakers
Victor Wembanyama is available against the Lakers on Friday.
After being under a minutes restriction and being barred from playing in back-to-backs earlier in the season, Wembanyama should be good to go against Los Angeles.
Spurs injury report
Charles Bassey (knee), and Marcus Morris Sr. (not with team) both remain out for the Spurs.
