Cooper Flagg comments reveal Spurs have already made strong impact

What a nice thing to say.

Not everyone with a pulse deserves to have their opinions heard on every subject. Why? Because nobody knows everything about all subjects. Take FS1 co-host, Jason McIntyre, for example. Before the Silver and Black drafted Victor Wembanyama, he drew the ire of Spurs fans after he criticized San Antonio before admitting he had never been to Alamo City.

I have a very simple philosophy that keeps me from putting my foot in my mouth, and it's one that more people should adopt: Don't speak on things you're not informed about. It doesn't require jumping through any mental hoops to understand as it's very straightforward.

San Antonio is a wonderful place. There's a reason why players from all over the world end up calling it home after spending a few years there. Just ask Cooper Flagg. He's only been there a short time as the Duke Blue Devils prepare to play in the Final Four and he's already taken to the city.

Flagg and Wembanyama would dominate the league for the next decade

This is probably a pipe dream, but like Jay Z said, "Difficult takes a day, impossible takes a week." The NBA Draft Lottery is a numbers game, so as long as there are digits next to San Antonio's name, there's a chance to pull that pick. Therefore, dreaming about an Alien/Flagg duo is fair game.

The Duke superstar just won National Player of the Year, and it was likely the easiest decision the voters have made. Cooper has proved his worth 100 times over this season and he's still carving his name in stone. The NCAA Tournament isn't over yet, and if he finishes it how he starts, he'll establish himself as one of college basketball's all-time players.

Flagg is a versatile player and he's been compared to Kawhi Leonard. That's because he can literally do everything on the floor whether on or off the ball on offense, and is just as dynamic on defense.

If the Spurs were able to add the number one projected draft pick to the roster, they would have three freakishly athletic players when you add Stephon Castle to the bunch. Flagg is stout for his age, and at 6'9", he can see over defenses as a ball handler or shoot over them as a catch-and-shoot threat. He is a strong ball handler, finishes well in traffic, and plays well off the ball.

That would be necessary because as talented as he is, Wembanyama is still the generational talent so he'd command the ball. Fortunately for the Spurs and unfortunately for their opponents, Wemby is a selfless player, so there will be plenty of touches to go around. Flagg has the same mentality. Both guys just want to win games, and together they'd be unstoppable.
