Summer League basketball means little to nothing in the grand scheme of a player's career in the NBA. Carter Bryant said it himself in an interview after the wire-to-wire win against the 76ers. "These games aren't going to define your career," he told Katie George. He's on the money with that statement.
The only thing you're supposed to do in SL is go play with consistent effort and try to pay close attention to the details. If you do that, you'll stand out in the ways that matter. That's exactly what Bryant has been doing, and it should get Spurs fans excited.
He's been a dog on defense. The prototypical 3-and-D wing has finally made his way to San Antonio, and everyone, including the poor hot-take artist Kendrick Perkins, can see what's brewing.

Bryant can star in his role by staying grounded
One of Victor Wembanyama's best attributes is his grasp of reality. He didn't come into the league expecting things to be handed to him, nor did he believe that because he had so much hype, he should run the organization. He's let everything develop in the way that it needs to—organically— while he does his job of getting better every and any way he can.
Fans will remember that the 7'4" phenomenon struggled in his first Summer League action. It was hilarious to watch people spin themselves in circles as they tried to make early claims that Vic would be a bust when almost everyone knows not to take anything seriously from a tournament that hosts teams filled by players who mostly will not be on NBA rosters when the season starts.
That's why nobody should be concerned about Bryant's poor shooting. He's very irrelevant. He'll have more time to work on his game once the summer games are over. We know he has a good shooting stroke, but that doesn't mean he's going to hit the ground running in that area. Offense is often one of the toughest things to translate from college to the pros. There's an adjustment period.
But like Wembanyama, the Arizona draftee is focused on defense first. That foundation will get him plenty of minutes. Especially if he keeps making plays like this one.

That's unreal athleticism, and he's using it for good. He's like Superman. So many athletic wings reserve their special feats for highlight reel dunks and other offensive moves. Bryant uses his abilities to deny his opponents' success. You might argue that Superman would never deny someone else's success. He would if the opponent were Lex Luthor. And they're all Lex Luthor.
