NBA All-Star Saturday 2018 results, winners: Dunk, 3-Point and Skills
By Rob Wolkenbrod
On Saturday night, the NBA held its prelude to the 2018 All-Star Game. What were the results of these contests?
NBA All-Star Weekend always brings out the most entertaining side of the league. It’s for the fans, but also shows a laid-back side of the players. This happens across three days starting with the All-Star Celebrity Game and the Rising Stars Game on Friday night.
For Saturday, it was all about the contests. This started with the Skills Challenge, followed by the 3-Point contest and finished with the Dunk.
By the end of the night, the results were in and winners came to the forefront in all three contests. Let’s look at the results:
- Skills Challenge: Spencer Dinwiddie defeats Lauri Markkanen.
- 3-Point Contest: Devin Booker defeats Klay Thompson and Tobias Harris. Booker’s 28 points was a contest record.
- Dunk Contest: Donovan Mitchell defeats Larry Nance Jr.
Mitchell’s dunks were the eye-opening part of the Dunk Contest, including his bounce off a second backboard and his one from the final round:

"Half man, half amazing!"
Is that Donovan Mitchell or Vince Carter?

Nance Jr. paid tribute to his father, inaugural Dunk Contest champion, Larry Nance. However, this final dunk was arguably the best of his set:

Dunks from Oladipo and Smith Jr. were highlight-reel worthy, too, which made for a complete contest of the high-flying antics fans expect when All-Star Weekend arrives.
The Spurs do not have a player that won the Dunk Contest. However, in 2014, Marco Belinelli represented San Antonio and won the 3-Point Contest.
