On a night when the Spurs raised their banner and received their championship rings, it appeared that Dallas was actually the team doing so with the Mavericks jumping out to an eight point halftime lead.

San Antonio was thankfully able to rally in the second half though, squeaking out with a one point victory thanks to a Tony Parker three with a minute and a half left in the game.

Now that the game is over, we have post-game grades for key Spurs players in the San Antonio Dallas game!

Check out our player grades below!

Tony Parker finished with a final line of 23 points, three assists, and three rebounds for the San Antonio Spurs. Parker also shot the ball well against the Dallas Mavericks, finishing 9-of-15 from the floor, 4-of-4 from deep. Fun fact, the last time Tony Parker went 4-of-4 from deep, February 28th, 2004. The only reason holding Parker back from a higher grade is his assist numbers. Not saying Tony has to put up 10+ assists but 2-3 more would be beneficial. It’s only one game in the season though so Parker’s assist numbers are not a concern.. PG. San Antonio Spurs. TONY PARKER. A-

B. Danny Green played solid for the San Antonio Spurs in their opening game, scoring 13 and picking up four boards. Like Parker, Green shot well from the field finishing the game 5-of-9 from the field with three of those field goals being from deep. The one negative Green had was his four personal fouls. A solid game earns Green a solid “B” grade.. SG. San Antonio Spurs. DANNY GREEN

A. Marco Belinelli gets the highest grade for the night not only because of his performance but also the circumstances surrounding his performance. Belinelli finished the night with 15 points, three assists, and two rebounds in a start for the San Antonio Spurs. The Italian guard also shot the ball well, finishing the game 5-of-8 and 3-of-6 from behind the arc. Belinelli filled in for Kawhi Leonard tonight and absolutely hit it out of the park. Sure he could added more to his final line but considering he shot only 35% in the preseason this is a major win. Also, Belinelli didn’t really do anything to hurt his team.. SF. San Antonio Spurs. MARCO BELINELLI

B+. Tim Duncan did what we all expected on opening night, having another fantastic game. Duncan notched his 14th double-double in season openers, most all-time in NBA history, with 14 points and 13 rebounds. The only reason why Tim Duncan does not get a better grade here is because of the five turnovers he committed. Still though, great way to start the season for The Big Fundamental.. PF. San Antonio Spurs. TIM DUNCAN

D+. Matt Bonner gets our lowest grade of the night with his poor performance in his start. Bonner replaced Tiago Splitter, who is out with a right calf injury, in the game against the Dallas Mavericks and it was not so good. The Red Mamba struggled in his 14 minutes on the court, finishing 0-of-2 from the field with zero points and only two rebounds. Bonner also committed three personal fouls in his short time. Yikes! Hopefully Bonner can turn it around on Friday in Phoenix!. C. San Antonio Spurs. MATT BONNER

. . SAN ANTONIO SPURS BENCH. B. The San Antonio Spurs bench was solid against Dallas, outscoring the Mavericks bench 36-34. Head coach Gregg Popovich decided to use a nine man rotation for the night, four players off the bench, and it worked to perfection. Manu Ginobili led the way for the reserves, netting 20 points which included the 10 straight he scored for the Spurs between the third and fourth quarters. The rest of the bench was good too. Boris Diaw struggled from the field but finished with another nice all-around performance, five points, six assists, nine rebounds. Aron Baynes and Cory Joseph also played well, each shooting above 50% from the field.
