Wembanyama's legendary season can only end one way at this rate

This needs to end with an NBA Finals run.

Watching Victor Wembanyama is a very unique experience. The way he moves can look very awkward because of his elongated frame, and you think that he shouldn't be able to do some of the things he does, but that doesn't stop him from dropping your jaw anyway. And he does it again, and again, and again.

He's entered the superstar territory that judges his stat lines differently. A 20-point game is an off-night for him because everyone knows he's capable of so much more. Generally, he not only gives us a fun night of hoops, but his production also goes above and beyond anything you really expect, so at the end of the night, when you look at his numbers, they just don't make sense.

So, you laugh. You laugh because it doesn't make sense, and you don't have the words to describe what's transpiring before our eyes. We've never seen someone who can impact the game on both sides of the floor so forcefully. It gets even crazier when you look at his career output as a whole.

Wembanyama can lead the Spurs on a Finals run

I'm almost ready to declare that anything less than the Western Conference Finals is a disappointment, but I'm not that crazy. The Spurs haven't been to the playoffs in over half a decade. If they make it out of the first round, it'll be an accomplishment the fans would be elated about, but I'm a bit of a nut, and when I see potential, I'm not shy about calling it out.

I didn't shy away when I predicted that Stephon Castle would win Rookie of the Year during the 2024 summer. I didn't shy away from claiming this team would win 50 games in July 2025, well before they even got to training. I'm definitely not going to back down now.

I see something great in this team right now. Too many people are shy about being wrong, afraid of being made fun of by the masses, but this is sports. We're here for a good time. We just also have the benefit of being here for a long time, too. We're not doing extreme sports as viewers, though sometimes our opinions may be viewed as outrageous.

When you look at every team in the West, there are flaws in all of them. San Antonio has theirs as well, but having a strong defense to fall back on gives you an advantage. Superstars take over during the playoffs, and only one team has an alien, and he has the fourth-highest odds to win NBA Finals MVP, so what does that tell you?

If he plays like he did in the second half of the Rockets game, or like he did on opening night against the Mavericks, who is beating this team? Nobody.
