Wembanyama just gave Spurs fans two things to love and one to worry about

Victor Wembanyama just led Team France to an 84-69 victory over Team Sweden in the FIBA qualifiers. The Spurs' superstar's stint with the international team is now over, as the upcoming NBA season will take priority, but he left an impact that his fellow countrymen will certainly miss.

True to his nature, Wemby stuffed the stat sheet with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 3 blocks, 6/7 FG (86%), 5/8 FT (63%), 1/1 3PT, and +16 in 29:33 minutes of action. The game likely would have been a bigger blowout had Team France played through the Alien more, but they got the victory, and that's what matters.

Training camp arrives in less than a month now. With the season rapidly approaching, fans will want to know whether Wembanyama has added some things to his game. Well, he showcased a couple of things that Spurs Nation fans will be excited about, with one worrisome note.

1. Wembanyama looked like the best player on the floor

There are levels to greatness. Some guys make their presence felt throughout the entire game, clearly demonstrating that they're better than everyone else on the court. Others have flashes of excellence throughout a game but also have a tendency to disappear over the course of 40-48 minutes.

Wemby is the former.

Even when he wasn't taking the shots, he was in most of France's actions: he made plays with the ball in his hands, set screens, rebounded, and pretty much made his presence felt every minute he was in the game. That's exactly what you want to see from a guy who wants to be the greatest ever.

2. Spurs fans will love the post moves Wembanyama used

Victor didn't even take a three-point attempt until about 3:20 remaining on the clock in the fourth quarter. Everything was on the inside. Defenders were at his mercy when he caught the ball down low, and although he let them off the hook a few times with quick passes, the Alien also punished them with an assortment of moves that will look great with a silver and black uniform on his back.

Wemby has worked out with Hakeem Olajuwon. The Rockets legend had some of the sweetest footwork the NBA has ever seen. Vic used it sometimes last season, but not enough. However, if his FIBA performances are an indication of his intended playing style from now on, fans will be thrilled.

3. Wemby still needs to work on his free throw shooting

Here's the rub. Vic is still missing free throws. That was an issue for the entire team last season, and it's still a work in progress for Area 51's ringleader. The encouraging part is that he went 4/4 to end the game. The 1/4 start was ugly, though.

Wemby shot 83% from the free-throw line last season. That's pretty good for a big man. The problems come if he's missing them late or at inopportune times, like when the Spurs are trying to stop a run or build one of their own. It didn't hurt his team today, but it could hurt SA in big moments during the 82-game slate or playoffs if he doesn't clean it up.

At the end of the day, Wembanyama did what Wembanyama does. He made an impact. He was strong on both ends of the floor, and his team won in large part because of it. His presence on the interior was noticeable, and Spurs Nation will have their fingers crossed, hoping he brings the same mindset back to the States.
