NBA basketball is the cream of the crop when it comes to hoops around the world. The best players come from all over the world to compete with the most elite talent the sport has to offer. It gives us a clue into the level of players around the globe. All the best athletes are no longer exclusively in America.

Every list that comes out ranking players is a testament to that, as Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, and Giannis are routinely in the top five. That didn't change in the recently released ranking from the Action Network, ranking the top 100 players this season. Victor Wembanyama once again found himself in the top 10 ahead of some of the most respected players in the history of the game.

It's important to remember this is a projection and is not strictly based on where players finished last season. These lists are always fun to scroll through, learning what others feel about the stars around the league, and yours in particular.

Yes, the San Antonio Spurs have a star again. You already know that, but it's nice to think about after years of lackluster basketball. It was painful to sit through night after night after the 20 years of efficient, high-level play we were spoiled with during the Tim Duncan era.

However, a bridge has been crossed, leaving a desolate wasteland of poor shooting and unforced turnovers behind and entering a new euphoric promised land filled with lob dunks to aliens and pink afros. Victor Wembanyama will lead this team back to the heights they've been foaming at the mouth for since Zaza Pachulia stuck his foot where it didn't belong and nobody doubts it.

When you look at that list, you can give nothing but credit to Wemby for how he's viewed. Performances like his 3rd quarter explosion to take down the Nuggets and the end of the season, or his 10-block triple-double are directly responsible for him being ranked over the likes of Kevin Durant and Steph Curry. Both of those players are still playing at an extremely high level.

But the future is here, and his name is Victor Wembanyama. Get on the train or get run over because it's not stopping anytime soon.
