It's official, the San Antonio Spurs have forced a decisive Game 7 in the Western Conference Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. I shouldn't have to tell you all what is at stake for both the Spurs and superstar Victor Wembanyama.

If they win, then they will have knocked off the defending champions and defeated their rivals. If they lose, then it's back to the drawing board this summer, tweaking their roster until they can beat OKC.

But what about Wembanyama? A win means that he would have arrived as the NBA's best player. If he loses, then he'll have to endure a summer of questions about his disappearing act in losses to the Thunder.

A lot rides on a Spurs Game 7 win against the Thunder

Just the fact the Spurs were able to force Game 7 is an accomplishment after they practically no-showed in Game 5. This team has some fight, and win or lose, taking the defending champions to seven games in the Western Conference Finals in their first playoff trip ain't nothing.

For a team that critics discounted for their lack of playoff experience, racking up at least 18 games of postseason experience in their first run together is impressive. It could also be important to their long-term development.

Stephon Castle has made big strides this season, and having played 85 games in his sophomore year has given him plenty of reps. The same can be said for Dylan Harper.

He could break out next season with the amount of experience he's gained. Still, the Spurs are hoping for more basketball, not just consolation prizes. Those two, along with Wembanyama, hold the key to San Antonio's Game 7 hopes.

Victor Wembanyama can ascend to NBA greatness with a Game 7 win

Wembanyama's play during wins and losses in this series has been night and day. During wins, he plays like the best player in the NBA.

During losses, he looks gassed and uninvolved. The Spurs obviously hope for the former to happen in Game 7. A monster game and a win would go a long way towards Wembanyama's legacy and status as the future face of the NBA.

With him sitting out during the entire fourth quarter of Game 6, he will hopefully be rested and ready for the biggest game of his life so far. San Antonio needs him to be every bit as good as he was in Game 1 for the Silver and Black to achieve a massive Game 7 win.
