Victor Wembanyama and Tobias Harris were recently spotted in the gym together, putting in some work in the middle of what's been a busy offseason for the Spurs. Sure, on the surface, it seems like your standard summer workout photo dump. But it's more than that; it's a sign of Wemby's impressive leadership and commitment to greatness.

When a team adds a new player, that doesn't guarantee an automatic path to a championship run. Chemistry must be built, and there's no other way to establish that than having your best player dedicate offseason time to work with a new teammate. Initiating that trust early on can go a long way for a group with such lofty expectations as the Spurs.
Wembanyama is making Tobias harris a priority
The worst thing that could happen for Victor Wembanyama right now is getting complacent. Sure, he was amazing last season with his otherworldly, MVP-level two-way impact. But he can't rest on his laurels. For him, consistent growth is the key. He should be concerned about pushing himself to be even more dominant than he was in his third year.
Luckily, he has the right mindset, and that's apparent from his summer work with Tobias Harris. Not only is he establishing chemistry with a new teammate, but he also could be learning a thing or two from him. Harris has been around the league for 15 years and has been a steady, consistent scoring force.
There was never a point in Tobias Harris's career when he was as good as Victor Wembanyama, but that doesn't mean he can't offer some insight for the young star. He knows how to create his own shots and has put together some super-efficient scoring seasons, both areas where Wemby is looking to grow.
Wemby is setting a tone for the Spurs
Great leaders know how to set a standard for their team. Wemby's always been great at that, and his workout with Tobias Harris is just another example of it. Embracing time with a new, experienced teammate should send an important message to the other Spurs: embrace every opportunity to get better.
That isn't to suggest that players like Dylan Harper, Stephon Castle, or others aren't putting in work this summer. You can guarantee those guys entered the offseason hungry to get better. But still, a team's best player must set an example of the mindset and grind needed to make big leaps from one season to the next.
The rest of the league should be worried. The Spurs have enough raw talent on paper, but if you combine that with their elite chemistry, they're going to be a difficult group to face off against all season long.
