With training camp right around the corner, the San Antonio Spurs will soon debut a massively improved roster. However, a new image making the rounds on social media just gave Spurs fans a massive jolt of confidence. Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama hasn't played a game since February but was just spotted working out with Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon.

Olajuwon is well-regarded for his elite footwork in the post and could help Wembanyama unlock another aspect of his game. He is already a good post player but has had problems establishing position in the post and also with teams swarming him around the basket.
With better teammates, namely star De'Aaron Fox, an improved Stephon Castle, and second overall pick Dylan Harper, hopefully, teams will be forced to play him one-on-one. That would give him more of a chance to show what he can really do in the paint and to showcase moves learned from Olajuwon.
Victor Wembanyama's offseason work could help him break out
In addition to potentially adding some serious post moves, he's gained 15 lbs since last season, and going from 209 lbs when he was initially drafted to 245 lbs. That's important since it will hopefully allow him to get better positioning, which would mean that defenders would have to travel further to their man.
San Antonio is light on shooters but may still have enough with Harrison Barnes, Devin Vassell, and Julian Champagnie. Additionally, teams may be wary of leaving Castle and Fox open, with them being able to pick up speed and blow by closeouts to easily get to the rim. Think early Tony Parker.
The Spurs' starting lineup should have enough spacing around Wembanyama to give him more room to work with. Hopefully, he will have plenty of chances to show off any moves learned from Olajuwon and allow him to make a big leap from being a top-15 player to a top-5 player.
Victor Wembanyama may finally be putting it all together
Last season, Wembanyama made big strides as a shooter, attempting nearly nine 3-point attempts per game and shooting 35.3% from deep. Had his season not ended early, he would have easily shattered the Spurs' single-season 3-point record.
That's a massive improvement considering he was seen as a theoretical shooter before being drafted. He also shot 84% from the free-throw line last season, further proving his shooting touch.
With that hopefully down pat, he'll need to further develop his inside game. Using more pin-down screens to get open jumpers in the mid-range and rolling more to the basket instead of popping out behind the 3-point line will help him get easier shots. Now, he's apparently focusing on his post-up game, which could further unlock his game.
All told, Wembanyama working with Olajuwon is a dream for Spurs fans. With him tacking on mass and working on his post-game, he could leap into the NBA's elite
