The Spurs' mystifying dominance translates into a terrifying reality

This Spurs team is stupidly locked in, and the amount of talent they have makes that scary.

Late in March, the Spurs clinched their first playoff berth in seven years. This is an amazing accomplishment for the team and officially locks them into a hopefully long playoff run. But don't let the celebration distract you from the fact that the Spurs still have 10 hugely important games left on the docket.

In response to the clamoring over the Spurs' postseason entrance, Harrison Barnes stated, “For us, it’s less about looking at our record and more about looking at the games that we've lost. I think there's a lot that we can learn from that.” If you ever doubted this team's seriousness, this quote should change your mind.

Harrison Barnes is the perfect mentor for the young Spurs

While I can't assume that the Spurs' motivation stems from Harrison Barnes, I can confidently say that he has played a large part in it. The 33-year-old is the oldest member of the Silver and Black and has taken pride in his role as a team leader. When HB talks about his squad, you should know that he means every word.

Props to General Manager Brian Wright for bringing in the savvy veteran last season, because he is the exact kind of player you want in the locker room with growing young players. The battle-tested and seasoned player has been a part of a championship squad before and has learned exactly what it takes to win.

Without even stepping foot into the locker room, I know for a fact that Harrison has left an imprint on San Antonio. The mentality he displayed in his recent quote is a prime example of what he is instilling in the blossoming unit.

The Spurs will do whatever it takes to win a championship

This team is focused on nothing else but winning a championship. It's incredible to hear what the players have to say and how they have reveled in becoming a title-contending team. It's rare to see such a young team be so determined, motivated, and composed. San Antonio has something special in their hands.

Seeing how the Spurs are unwilling to take their foot off the gas until the final buzzer rings is extraordinary. From the leadership down to the players, everybody understands what these final 10 games mean and what a great impact they can have on their goal of winning a title.

Harrison Barnes' comments are especially encouraging and should bring light to how dedicated this Spurs squad really is. If this team truly is this focused on winning, I don't see how they won't succeed in the playoffs. They have the mentality and the talent; now we just need to sit back and watch it all unfold.
