Stephon Castle name emerges as key piece in delusional Kevin Durant trade talks

They can't be serious.

Someone needs to do a wellness check on the Suns' front office and make sure they're not being held hostage. Only someone who doesn't know what they're doing would ask for Stephon Castle or the number two overall pick for a 37-year-old Kevin Durant, right?

Maybe a fan broke into the front office and is running things with Matt Ishbia and Brian Gregory tied up behind the desk, because that is an absurd ask. Castle just played an 81-game season and was fewer than ten votes from winning Rookie of the Year unanimously.

This kid has an explosive season that earned him one half of the Area 51 nickname with Victor Wembanyama within his first couple of months in the league. His future is brighter than the sun when you first open your eyes in the middle of August. And as crazy as that already is, it may not be the worst of it. They asked for the number two overall pick, too, and that's just concerning.

The Suns don't know what they're doing

This Phoenix team is going to end up doing something very unintelligent at this rate. This reads like an NBA2K trade offer where you just force the game to give you whatever you want. Unfortunately for the Suns, Brian Wright isn't a computer you can use to input commands to give you a favorable deal. This is the real world, and in reality, KD isn't fetching anywhere close to that return, so give it up.

Imagine trading a young Tim Duncan for Charles Barkley. I bet you've never even considered that, because why would you? Why would anyone? It's a ridiculous thought that doesn't deserve any air, and that's the nonsense wafting through our senses because of their silliness.

Dylan Harper is so far ahead of everyone else projected to go after him in the upcoming draft that the Philadelphia 76ers are trying to move up one spot in a deep class to grab him. Mock drafts everywhere have the Rutgers guard as the undisputed number two prospect this summer, and he's expected to be a bona fide star.

There's no world in which the Spurs trade away the opportunity to select that guy for a couple of years, max, of KD. You have to remember who you're dealing with, too. This isn't Washington or Charlotte. San Antonio has never been one to take a swing that wild. It's not one of those "well, you had to ask" scenarios. No, you didn't. Let's be reasonable.

You're going to take Devin Vassell, Harrison Barnes, and the 14th pick, and you're going to like it or send him somewhere else. The Spurs will be fine, regardless, but don't pick up that phone asking stupid questions. It's a waste of everyone's time.
