The San Antonio Spurs are gearing up for another home game in the Frost Bank Center. Their opponent: the Brooklyn Nets. The New York's basketball stepchild isn't a juggernaut by any means, but neither are the Silver and Black, so predicting this game is impossible. Especially if Stephon Castle won't be in the lineup, which is a possibility per Spurs PR.
San Antonio Spurs injury report
Stephon Castle - Questionable (Left thumb)
Charles Bassey - Out (Left knee)
Victor Wembanyama - Out for the season (Right shoulder)
Riley Minix - Out for the season
Charles Bassey has played two games in the last month. He just can't stay healthy. It's a good thing the Spurs went out and got Bismack Biyombo because this team desperately needs big men to play the position and be reliable. Availability isn't a skill, but it is a valuable attribute. Unfortunately for the game of basketball, the Nets will also be missing players.
Brooklyn Nets injury report
Noah Clowney - Out (Ankle)

Game notes for Spurs/Nets
Brooklyn has had their fair share of injuries this season. Not that anyone expected them to be a powerhouse, but Cam Thomas has been a revelation, and he's been injured for a large chunk of the season. He made his return on the final day of February and missed their team's last game against Detroit for injury management purposes, but he's expected to be back in the lineup for the Spurs game.
Thomas will likely be on a minutes restriction. He's returning from a pulled hamstring, and sports fans worldwide know how much those injuries can nag players. If the Spurs are trying to win this game, that will be to their advantage since the Brooklyn guard averages 24.3 points a night.
D'Angelo Russell is also expected back in the lineup after missing BK's last five games. Russell is having a down year, but San Antonio can't bank on that. Everyone from team stars to role players seem to love having career games against 210's finest, so the guys must be locked in from the start of the game and be ready to fight for the entire 48 minutes if they want to win.
That's been a struggle for this team for the past few years, and although I would like the Spurs to get a higher draft pick, we also need to see them breaking bad habits. They have 23 games left to look good while losing games. They already did it against OKC. It may be a tall task to accomplish the same against a lowly Nets team, but anything is possible.
This article will be updated when new information releases regarding Stephon Castle's injury status.
