Victor Wembanyama has been cleared. He's completely recovered from the blood clot that put him on the sidelines in February, and the Spurs have given him the all-clear, he told Maxime Aubin of L'Equipe.

The Alien only played in 46 games in his sophomore season because of his deep vein thrombosis diagnosis at the beginning of February. The ailment robbed him of the Defensive Player of the Year award, an All-NBA selection, and quite possibly, a play-in berth. Wembanyama was averaging 24 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, a steal, and four blocks a game.

He was just barely under league-average from three, and he was only going to get better as the season progressed and the stakes rose. He was halted by a medical enigma, but now he can get back to being what everyone knows he's going to be: a monster.

Spurs can do the unthinkable if Wembanyama take the leap

Most aren't expecting San Antonio to win 50 games next season, but that's completely reasonable. The Spurs have a very deep roster right now and they're all hungry. The players are tired of losing, and they've been in the gym. The videos are all over the place confirming it.

You've seen Jeremy Sochan work out the kinks in his shooting form, Stephon Castle working with the Guard Whisperer, Devin Vassell constantly in the gym, etc. These guys are ready to take the next step, but they'll need their leader to do so. He'll be ready. Victor is entering his third season, and he has months to go full tilt in an effort to take that leap that guys with his billing usually take.

Wembanyama will enter the year as a top ten player, but it won't take long before he's talked about as a top-5 guy. Throw in a healthy and motivated De'Aaron Fox, and this team is going to catch people by surprise.
