Fresh off a massive NBA Cup quarterfinals victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, the San Antonio Spurs have sent shockwaves throughout the league. The squad conquered the widely clamored Lakers in primetime with the whole world watching. The Silver and Black dominated the game and made several statements.

While there is so much to take away from the thrilling event, perhaps the biggest of all is the Spurs' depth. Yes, I know, you have heard it all year long. We know this squad is deep, but now the evidence is undeniable. This unit has done something that very few teams in the NBA can do: spread the scoring around the entire team.

How many teams in the NBA can you name that consistently have 5-6 players scoring in double digits every night? Not very many, I'll tell you that. On Wednesday night in LA, the Spurs had a whopping seven players score in double digits. Four guys scored over 20 against OKC last night. Truly remarkable. The Silver and Black have found a group that knows how to fill it up from top to bottom.

Brian Wright has done an incredible job in team construction

Above all else, we can thank General Manager Brian Wright for the Spurs' robust scoring outbursts. Over the past few years, Wright has found several diamonds and has stuck with his principles in team building, slowly constructing a roster that is now booming.

Players like Julian Champagnie came out of absolutely nowhere, while draft picks such as Keldon Johnson and Devin Vassell were not highly regarded as prospects and are now blossoming under the organization's trust.

Adding to the list of guys that have contributed for dirt cheap, Luke Kornet and Harrison Barnes were homerun moves that deserve a lot of credit. The majority of these guys were never expected to be foundational pieces of a team, but now they are in San Antonio.

The Spurs versatility makes them impossible to stop

One of the biggest reasons this Spurs team has stayed afloat despite numerous injuries is that their game plan is incredibly tricky.

On a game-to-game basis, you never know who is going to step up. It could be Devin Vassell tapping into his on-ball game, Harrison Barnes or Julian Champagnie stepping into the paint, or Keldon Johnson magically grabbing a million offensive rebounds. This team has unlimited ways to win basketball games.

So, in theory, the Spurs don't need a superstar to lead their team. They are built through playing with each other and bouncing off one another. They are the greatest example of team-based basketball and show it every single night.

Of course, it will be great to have Victor Wembanyama on the court, and he will undeniably make his presence felt, but this team has shown it can win in many ways beyond a Wemby carry job. When he does return, things aren't going to change much. The cast of guys will continue their efforts in propelling this San Antonio squad to heights we never imagined.
