After months of building up to the 2025 NBA Draft, the San Antonio Spurs finally made their selections. They picked Rutgers guard Dylan Harper second overall and Arizona wing Carter Bryant 14th.

Those moves add yet more talent to one of the most impressive young cores in the NBA, headlined by Victor Wembanyama. They still need to enhance their young talent by increasing shooting.

Fortunately, they will have full access to their mid-level exception (MLE) and bi-annual exception (BLE). That will give them a chance to fill out their roster and build a team that will hopefully contend for the playoffs next season. Next, let's take a look at the Spurs' current depth chart and starting lineup after a successful NBA Draft.

Spurs' projected starting lineup after the 2025 NBA Draft

Starting lineup: De'Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell, Harrison Barnes, and Victor Wembanyama

Point Guard:

1. De'Aaron Fox

2. Blake Wesley

Shooting Guard:

1. Stephon Castle

2. Dylan Harper

3. Malaki Branham

Small Forward:

1. Julian Champagnie

2. Keldon Johnson

3. Carter Bryant

Power Forward:

1. Harrison Barnes

2. Jeremy Sochan

Center:

1. Victor Wembanyama

The Spurs still have four roster spots left to fill post-draft and could bring back a couple of players from last year's team. Sandro Mamukelashvili would give the Spurs depth at power forward and probably wouldn't cost them more than the veterans' minimum. That would solidify the power forward position and provide them with additional depth.

They could technically also bring back Chris Paul using his non-Bird rights. That means they wouldn't have to use the MLE or BLE to re-sign him and give him a slight pay raise. He would have to accept a bench role, likely playing only around 15 minutes per game.

Barring that, the Spurs could give Wesley a role as a fourth guard who can play spot minutes. Meanwhile, Fox could average around 32 minutes, Castle around 30, and Harper around 25.

Ultimately, the Spurs continue to evolve after drafting Harper and Bryant. They will still need to make moves to add more shooting and add a backup center, but they have taken a big step toward contention during the 2025 NBA Draft.
