The Spurs host the Kings on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. CT, and Sacramento is showing up in worse shape than Dallas did. De'Aaron Fox's former team is 0-3 with four rotational players ruled out, including both of the centers behind Domantas Sabonis and a starting forward who was added to the report over the weekend. San Antonio is down to the same two names they've had from the jump.

Kings injury report

Keegan Murray - Out (Left ankle)
Maxime Raynaud - Out (Right Patella)
Dylan Cardwell - Out (Left Calf)
Ben Simmons - Out for the season (Right Achilles)
Sean Pedulla - Out (G League)

Spurs injury report

Tobias Harris - Out (Left calf)
Jayden Quaintance - Out (Right knee)

Sacramento is arriving with nothing in the tank

Murray is the fresh addition here. He's dealing with capsulitis in his left ankle after a surgery he had back in May, and he was already questionable for Sunday's loss to Memphis. His season debut in the opener was two points on 1-of-8 shooting in 28 minutes, so the Kings haven't gotten much from him either way.

The bigger picture is even worse for them. Ben Simmons tore his right Achilles in practice on October 18 and is gone for the season. That cost SAC a starter before the open. Raynaud and Cardwell have both been out since mid-October, with reports putting them at November 2 at the earliest, leaving Sabonis without a real backup (Wemby can sympathize from his experience in his first two seasons).

Throw in an 0-5 preseason that included a loss in San Antonio on October 16, and this is a team that hasn't won a basketball game since April 10 of last season. Just like the Dallas game, this is the kind of night that shouldn't demand a ton from the Spurs, but effort. Just show up and treat the Kings like professionals, and this should be an easy enough win.

The Spurs have owned the matchup with the Kings since the Fox trade

San Antonio is 3-1 against Sacramento since Swipa came over in February 2025. The only loss was his first trip back to Golden 1, and the Spurs have won every matchup since. Those victories have all been by 13 or more points—the scores of those games were 123-110, 139-122, and 132-104.

Fox is averaging 17.3 points and 8.3 assists through three games on 58.1% FG. After a strong performance against the Mavericks to the tune of 19 points, nine assists, and three steals, he'll be looking to continue his strong start to the 2026-27 campaign at the expense of his former team.

San Antonio will also see the Kings on November 6 and November 23 in Sacramento. Three meetings in four weeks against a team missing much is a real opportunity to bank wins while the three-guard lineup and the rotation around it are still getting sorted out. They need that to keep pace with the rest of the top teams in the West if they want a shot at the number one seed.
