After an A+ offseason, the San Antonio Spurs have managed to build the perfect roster around star Victor Wembanyama. Even after making it all the way to the NBA Finals in his third season, the Spurs still had a lot of work to do this offseason.

Luckily, they were able to check every box needed to build the best-possible roster around their best player. They needed depth at power forward, so they re-signed Harrison Barnes, extended Julian Champagnie, and added Tobias Harris.

They needed depth at center so they drafted Jayden Quaintance, and Tarris Reed Jr. Those two will replace the trio of danger—Bismack Biyombo, Mason Plumlee, and Kelly Olynyk.

However, the cherry on top came from Wembanyama himself, with him agreeing to take a 25% max contract instead of a potential 30% max deal.

The Spurs finally have the right supporting cast around Wemby

With little left to do this summer, attention now turns to their young core. Wembanyama, Stephon Castle, and Dylan Harper could each dramatically improve over the summer.

That would make an already great offseason even better for San Antonio. Wemby has come back stronger than before after each offseason.

He will hopefully do the exact same thing heading into his fourth year. Wembanyama withstood the physicality of the playoffs better than expected but could stand to get even stronger.

Doing so would make it near impossible for defenders to single cover him in the post or knock him off balance during drives. Even that small improvement would make him much harder to stop.

In turn, he could make the Spurs that much better. Especially with his supporting cast having leveled up.

The Spurs have all the makings of being the NBA's best team

In addition to Wembanyama's potential improvements this summer, the Spurs need Castle and Harper to do the same. Castle showed major improvement as a shooter last season.

In fact, he connected on 37% of his 4.5 threes per game from February 1st to the end of the regular season. He also shot a respectable 35.1% from three in the NBA playoffs.

Combine that with him being an underrated mid-range threat and a summer to future work on his shot, and he could dramatically improve in that area. As for Harper, he also made major strides as a shooter over the second-half of last season and in the playoffs.

With him likely to play closer to 30 minutes per game next year, he can make a much bigger impact in a larger role. Particularly if his shot is more reliable.

All told, having a better team around a potentially improved Wembanyama, Castle, and Harper could be all the Spurs need to win it all next season.
