Former San Antonio Spurs fan favorite Lonnie Walker IV agreed to a one-year deal with the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night. The 6’4 wing was drafted 18th overall by the Spurs in 2018, and fans quickly connected with him after he opened up about his past. Walker had some memorable games in San Antonio, including a monster 28-point night in his second season to defeat the rival Rockets in double overtime. Fans were sad to see him depart in 2022 as a free agent, but the rebuilding Spurs were going in a different direction.
Walker has bounced around since leaving San Antonio. He spent one season with the Lakers and one on the Nets before being cut in training camp by the Celtics in 2024. The 6’4 wing played part of the 2024-25 season overseas before catching on with the 76ers in February for the remainder of the year.
