Robert Horry's non-stop Spurs hate tour just added a Wembanyama stop

What's he talking about?

It's been nearly 20 years since former San Antonio Spurs forward Robert Horry last played with the team, but he continues to hold a grudge. Horry has been outspoken about his distaste for the Spurs since retiring and hasn't let up yet.

This time he turned his attention to star Victor Wembanyama. Horry chose to criticize Wembanyama after he scored 25 points in a quarter en route to dropping 40 points in just 26 minutes against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Weird timing, but ok. Worse yet, he claimed that Wembanyama wasn't a top-five player because he was too inconsistent. Yeah, ok, Bob. Wembanyama is having the best season of his career and is a dominant two-way force.

He is absolutely a top five player, and I would argue the fourth-best player in the NBA and climbing.

Spurs legend Robert Horry is dead wrong about Wembanyama

The character arc of Horry through the eyes of Spurs fans has been fascinating. He went from playing with hated rivals, the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers, to joining the Spurs.

He then cemented his legacy as one of the most successful players in NBA history with the Silver and Black. His 25-point second-half outburst in Game 5 of the 2005 NBA Finals against the Detroit Pistons saved San Antonio.

They would've been cooked if they had lost three straight to the then-defending champions. In fact, his play during Game 7--scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds, and playing terrific defense --delivered them their third championship. It also landed him his sixth ring.

Horry also hit a clutch three in Game 3 of their 2007 first-round series against the Denver Nuggets, quelling an upset. However, after winning his seventh championship with the Spurs, Horry wasn't bought back for a 16th season.

He went unsigned and never played in the NBA again. Since then, he has clearly harbored a grudge against San Antonio, wasting no opportunity to trash his former team at every possible moment.

Robert Horry has become one of the Spurs' biggest haters

He has taken to criticizing Tim Duncan, who delivered him two championships and the team repeatedly. Frankly, it's impressive that he has managed to hold on to his beef for this long.

Actually, the arrival of Wembanyama has apparently reinvigorated his hatred. Spurs fans shouldn't pay Horry any mind, though it's sad that such a key player on two championship teams has burned bridges.

You don't hear Brent Barry trash the team after they traded him after he helped them win two chips. He even re-signed with the Spurs weeks later. Horry didn't have that luxury, but he was 35 years old and wasn't worth bringing back.

Now, Horry is making a certified fool of himself by trashing Wembanyama. Too bad. Maybe one day he'll bury the hatchet and embrace his legacy with the Silver and Black. I just wouldn't hold my breath.
