The offseason is 'list central' in the NBA. It's the best time to figure out where players and their teams stand among their peers in various categories since there is no action taking place. Some tire of rankings, but it's an engaging way to discuss the athletes we all enjoy watching after they've put in work during the season.

Victor Wembanyama has brought the Spurs to the center of 'list central'; as a polarizing talent, he's been on several rankings. Quite honestly, some of the lists have felt like they were generated specifically for an excuse to wax poetic about the French sensation. Nonetheless, the neverending desire to talk about him can only be considered a credit to his ability, and Jeremy Woo from ESPN highlights that in his rankings of the NBA's most interesting sophomores.

This coverage is just the beginning for Wembanyama

Vic is already used to this level of intrigue; he's been on the world's radar for a long time and understandably so. He was reportedly so tall—standing 5'11"—at 10 years old that he was mistaken for a coach at a youth basketball event. For him, standing out goes without saying. But this is a new experience for San Antonio fans and will take some getting used to.

When you combine the consistent ranking lists with the neverending trade scenarios and roster suggestions, it's been tiring for some of the Spurs' faithful. It's the sports equivalent of going from 0-100, but the foot isn't coming off the pedal anytime soon and that's a good thing. This type of coverage only happens when you have someone as undeniably special as Wembanyama. We'll have to grin and bear it.
