After Victor Wembanyama's stunning performance in the Olympics resulted in a silver medal, he shared a moment with eventual first-ballot Hall-of-Famer Kevin Durant. The two spoke on the court for longer than a simple congratulations would normally take but it makes sense. Fans have long known that KD is Wembanyama's favorite player. He's modeled a lot of his game after the Slim Reaper, and with their similar frames, it makes sense.

Durant is one of the most special players the NBA has ever seen and an alien in his own right. His ability to score the basketball is second to none. Oh, to be a fly on the wall while the legend and the French phenom discuss whatever extraterrestrials talk about. But, fear not, Wembanyama appeared on a French television station with Gabby Williams from the French women's national team and let us know exactly what was on the agenda at that moment.

"I made it clear that I want to learn from him and steal only one or two of his secrets." - Victor Wembanyama

Wembanyama is going after his goals aggressively

The type of drive that this kid continues to show should impress everyone more and more. While taking home a silver medal is a tremendous achievement, Wembanyama wanted to win gold. He was clear that taking home anything less than that was unacceptable, and he showed that when he broke into tears immediately following the loss.

This is a player who, at 20 years old, has willingly stacked the pressure of a country on his shoulders. Yet he was already thinking about getting better at the very same moment he was fighting tears and had the presence of mind to seek out his idol to ask for his help.

Durant has had a slender frame his entire career. He has a ton of experience with getting to his spots and using his opponents' leverage against them. It's a rarity that defenses can stop KD from getting his shot off, whether they're physical with him or not. If Wemby can learn some of those tricks from Durantula, the NBA is in trouble.
