It was well known that the arrival of Victor Wembanyama to the Silver and Black organization wasn’t going to solve every problem this team had; however, no one expected to struggle as much as the San Antonio Spurs have done this season.

There have been several issues that have led to one of the worst starts to a season in San Antonio's history, as well as the second-worst record in the league this year. Failed experiments, players not performing at their best, poor decision-making, and difficulties in building good chemistry, particularly with the French star, are some of the primary reasons for the dreadful start.

However, if there is a team that can make Spurs fans feel better about the organization's reality, it is the Detroit Pistons, who have a record of 3-34 this season, the only record worse than their own.

This upcoming game will feature two of the NBA's worst-performing teams this season. The Spurs have recently broken a franchise record with 18 consecutive losses and are now on a new 5-game losing streak, while the Pistons have made their mark in the history of the NBA by obtaining a 28-game losing streak, an all-time record.

A key aspect of this game will be the absence of Detroit´s main star, Cade Cunningham, who is out with a knee strain injury, something that puts even more pressure on the Spurs to get the win today.

Despite both teams struggling, the Spurs seem to have more positives to take away than the Pistons. Even in their rebuilding phase, San Antonio is focused on gradual improvement. The occasional glimpses of good basketball they have displayed provide optimism for the future, especially once they can add players that can elevate their current level.

Based on the Spurs' performance this season, they are not considered favorites in many games. However, the upcoming game against the Pistons is an exception and is considered one of the most important games for the Spurs. The game presents an opportunity to generate a positive mood, show that the team is capable of achieving the expected results, and most importantly, avoid the catastrophe of losing to the worst team in the league without their main star.
