The Spurs officially announced they have claimed Sandro Mamukelashvili off waivers and converted his two-way contract into a standard deal.

San Antonio also disclosed they waived Isaiah Roby to clear a roster spot. The fourth-year forward averaged 4.1 points in 42 appearnces this season.

The Bucks released Mamukelashvili on Thursday. He averaged 3.4 points and 2.1 rebounds on 43.9% shooting in 65 games during his two-season stint in Milwaukee.

Despite struggling to get on the court for a championship contender, Mamukelashvili was dominant for the Wisconsin Herd. He posted 20.3 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game, earning an invitation to the G League Next Up Game at All-Star Weekend.

The 23-year-old big man was a four-year standout at Seton Hall, winning Big East Player of the Year as a senior. He improved his nightly numbers every season, drawing interest from NBA scouts for his ability to stretch the floor, handle the ball, and make high-level passing reads.

Sandro was the 54th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, and San Antonio hosted him for a private workout during the pre-draft process. The near-seven-footer also plays for the Georgian National Team at FIBA competitions.
