Spurs month-by-month predictions of the full 2023-24 NBA season
By Cal Durrett
Now that the San Antonio Spurs 2023–24 schedule has been released, fans have a much better idea of what this team will be up against this upcoming season. The Spurs' regular season is set to tip off on October 25th against the Dallas Mavericks, giving us our first glimpse of Victor Wembanyama in NBA games that matter.
It will also be an early test for a young team that has increased expectations after drafting a potential superstar. But what about the remaining schedule? How difficult will the Spurs' schedule be? Let's take a look at each month of San Antonio's schedule and try to predict the month-by-month record.
October: 4 Games
The Spurs are set to play just four games in the month of October, but they are a doozy. As mentioned, the team will start the season against the Mavericks, followed by another home game against the new and improved Houston Rockets. Then, they close the month with consecutive road games against the LA Clippers and Phoenix Suns.
All four games could be tough, though at least half of those games will be in San Antonio. I expect them to lose a close game in the opener, beat the Rockets, and lose their two road games against the Clippers and Suns. That would give them a 1-3 record, a bad start, but we'll see what November has in store for the Spurs.
