The San Antonio Spurs are trying their best to stay afloat amid numerous players being out, but help should be on the way. soon.

Dejounte Murray cleared health and safety protocols on Saturday after having missed the last four games and will be missing this one as he reconditions but should return Wednesday. Unsurprisingly, the Spurs have won just one of the games he's missed so far and have now lost three straight. They'll be looking to snap that streak against a Toronto Raptors team that's won two straight.

Fred VanVleet has been making a strong case for making his first All-Star team this season, averaging 20.9 points, 6.7 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game. He comes off a season high 35-points in a 120-105 victory over the New York Knicks on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Bryn Forbes scored 27 points in a frustrating one-point loss to the Detroit Pistons on Saturday.

The Spurs and Raptors have split the series in each of the last four seasons, with the Raptors winning the most recent meeting in April.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Raptors Prediction

It's safe to say the Spurs' effort against the Detroit Pistons was far from ideal. They allowed multiple rebounds to fall into the laps of their short-handed opponents while making lackadaisical passes and poor choices all game.

I'm hoping San Antonio can show a little bit more pride when they go into Toronto on a three-game losing streak looking to get back on track. Derrick White will need to continue showing he can be a main option in San Antonio while I expect Devin Vassell to build on his 19-point performance over the weekend.

The Raptors will be a tough matchup for San Antonio considering their variety of offensive weapons (they have five guys averaging over 15 points per game), and I'm not sold on the Spurs finding that consistency quite yet with Lonnie Walker and Doug McDermott still sidelined. Still, I expect a much better effort from the Spurs than they demonstrated their last time out.
