Friday afternoon, the NBA released the full season schedule for the San Antonio Spurs. Returning to a full 82-game slate, the Silver and Black will be tipping off the season on October 20th at 8:30 pm ET from the AT&T Center.
Facing an uphill battle in the midst of a rebuild, the Spurs are hoping for a shot at returning to the NBA Playoffs after missing the last two with winning percentages of 45.1 and 45.8. To do so, they'll have to at least finish in the top two-thirds of the Western Conference, as the 9th and 10th seeds will have the chance to play into the postseason once again.
With veterans DeMar DeRozan, Patty Mills, and Rudy Gay departing, the projected wins in Vegas have plummeted for the Spurs, with just a 28.5 mark. While that figure is probably way too low, the Spurs will have to rely on the emergence of someone like Dejounte Murray, Derrick White, or Keldon Johnson as a star-level talent to prove it wrong.
Here's the full schedule for the San Antonio Spurs for the 2021-22 NBA season.
We'll have further breakdowns of the schedule going forward, but here are some quick notes.
The Spurs will have a seven-game road trip from December 31st to January 10th and an eight-game road trip from February 9th to February 28th.
Patty Mills' welcome back game will be on January 21st at 8:30 pm ET from the AT&T Center. DeMar DeRozan's welcome back game will be one week later, January 28th at 8:30 pm ET. Rudy Gay's return to the Alamo City will be when Utah visits on December 27th at 8:30 pm ET.
After having no national TV games scheduled last season, the Spurs have five games on the docket this season. Four of them will be on NBA TV and one will be on ESPN.
