The San Antonio Spurs will be playing basketball on July 8th. Well, at least the summer version will.

Scheduled for four games from next Friday through Thursday in the NBA 2k23 Summer League, the Spurs will be headlined by sophomore Joshua Primo, who started in San Antonio's final 12 games of the regular season in 2022.

Joe Wieskamp, who was taken 41st overall last season, suffered an ankle sprain on Tuesday and has been ruled out of the Summer League games.

The slate of games will be an opportunity for the newest Spurs to showcase their talents, as draft picks Malaki Branham and Blake Wesley will all be on the roster. Dominick Barlow, whom the Spurs picked up on a two-way contract, will also be in the lineup.

All in all, there will be 17 players on the Spurs' Summer League roster, though a couple of guys won't be playing. There are a few Austin Spurs standouts from last season returning, like Robert Woodard II, D.J. Stewart, and Ky Bowman.

Jeremy Sochan ruled out of Summer League

Update: As of July 7th, Jeremy Sochan has been ruled out of the Summer League.

Unfortunately, the player Spurs fans are anticipating seeing the most, 9th pick Jeremy Sochan, was ruled out after having missed all practices with a positive COVID-19 case. Jordan Hall and Dominick Barlow, however, will be ones to watch as promising undrafted prospects.
