Both short-handed for much of the season, the Spurs and Clippers are trending in opposite directions as San Antonio has lost five of seven while LA has won seven of their last eight games after a slow start.
In their 114-106 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, the Spurs allowed 51.8% shooting from the field and gave up 19 fast break points. Keldon Johnson was a bright spot in the game, as he found his missing 3-point shot and put up 24 points in the effort.
Meanwhile, the Clippers gave up 35 points to DeMar DeRozan in a home loss to the Chicago Bulls later that evening. Paul George has been on a tear all season, averaging 26.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 2.2 steals for the 8-5 Clippers.

San Antonio Spurs vs LA Clippers Prediction
The Spurs have been struggling to defend the rim without Jakob Poeltl, and it's leading to some late-game breakdowns that are costing them wins. He would be a difficult matchup for the Clippers, who are already a small team that doesn't rebound the ball well on either end of the floor.
Since Poeltl will be missing this game, it's hard to see the Spurs being able to power through the Clippers' 2nd-ranked defense unless multiple guys step up and Paul George has an off night. Unfortunately, neither of those are very likely.
Clippers 113, Spurs 107
