What a difference Dejounte Murray makes for the San Antonio Spurs. With his team having lost four straight games without him, the All-Star candidate finished with 22 points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds in a 99-97 bounce-back win over the Boston Celtics. Unfortunately, four new Spurs entered COVID-19 health and safety protocols after the game.

Devin Vassell continued to shine in his third straight start in Doug McDermott's absence, scoring 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting. The Spurs also held their opponent to below 100 points for the first time since December 20th at L.A.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have won five straight games and are fresh off of a 116-106 win over the Orlando Magic. Joel Embiid (31 points) was one of four Sixers to score 20 or more points, along with Tobias Harris (22), Seth Curry (20), and Furkan Korkmaz (20).

The Spurs haven't defeated the 76ers since December 17th, 2018, last losing in overtime in May of this year, 113-111.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Philadelphia 76ers Prediction

The San Antonio Spurs sure look like a different team when Dejounte Murray is on the floor. Their offense was much more composed and organized while their defense held a team below 100 points for the first time since before Christmas.

It's clear that Dejounte elevates others, and the Spurs can beat anyone on a given night when he's on his game.

All that said, the 21-16 Sixers are rolling right now, and Embiid is having another MVP-level season. The Spurs will have to coral his supporting cast enough to have a chance in this one -- something they're capable of doing.

Unfortunately for the Spurs, Derrick White, Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell, and Thaddeus Young entered the NBA's health and safety protocols on Thursday so will be inactive. Tre Jones also entered COVID protocols on Friday. As a result, the Spurs signed Tyler Johnson and Anthony Lamb to 10-day hardship deals. Meanwhile, Lonnie Walker is questionable. This one could get ugly.
