The San Antonio Spurs will soon play their first preseason game, and unlike in years past, they don't appear to have a clear starting lineup. Instead, coach Greg Popovich could mix and match in the preseason until he finds the right five-man group. Especially with Victor Wembanyama now a Spur. Wembanyama's size, skill, and agility already have fans eager to see the Spurs try out different lineups that'll create matchup nightmares for opposing defenses.

With Wembanyama expected to start at power forward next to Zach Collins, there are three other spots that they can play around with in the starting lineup. As for closing lineups, the Spurs are likely to play small around their new franchise player, allowing them to get creative and see what works. That experimentation could extend beyond next season, with players such as Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell, and Jeremy Sochan seemingly part of San Antonio's future.

That is, provided that each meshes well with Wembanyama, and that probably won't happen immediately with one of the Vassell, Sochan, and Johnson trio coming off the bench this season. Keep that in mind as we take a look at several lineups that the Spurs should try out this season.
