Handing out leaguewide awards to the San Antonio Spurs

Defensive Player of the Year - Jeremy Sochan
If he was still on the roster, this award would go to the defensive anchor that is Jakob Poeltl. But the next best defensive player for the Spurs has to be Jeremy Sochan.
While the Spurs were horrendous defensively all season, Sochan was one of the bright spots on this end. Despite being a rookie, Sochan stepped up to the plate, taking the most difficult defensive assignment every night. Whether it was Steph Curry or LeBron James, the teenager rose to the challenge and had some success!
Sochan's mobility for his size allows him to switch onto almost every player on the floor, while his non-stop energy makes him an annoying on-ball defender. His trash talk has already made waves, as the rookie had spats with multiple players, including the Morris twins. Steven Adams even called him a "dirty little b*stard" for using special tactics to get in his head. But just like his offense, Sochan will only get better on defense as he learns his way through the league.Â
