Grade the Trade: the Spurs land Brandon Ingram in a polarizing proposed win-now deal

Bleacher Report's proposed deal would send Zach Collins, Keldon Johnson, a future first-round pick via Chicago (top-10-protected in 2025 and top-8-protected in 2026 and 2027), and a 2025 top-14-protected first-round pick via Charlotte. They would also send 2025 second-round picks via Chicago and New Orleans and a 2026 second-round pick via Utah to the Pelicans for Brandon Ingram.

On paper, the deal looks like a lot to give up for the Spurs but it's far from certain that the Bulls pick will convey. It's also doubtful that the Hornets pick will be conveyed as a first-round pick, though it would become two second-rounders in that event. That means that the Spurs would be sending a first and five seconds for an all-star in Ingram in addition to Collins and Johnson.

The Pelicans seem to be having a hard time finding a deal for Ingram, given that he could command a massive new contract. That might result in them taking what they can get and adding two rotation players; a possible first and five seconds is far from nothing for a player that they don't seemingly want any longer. There are definitely pros and cons for both teams but would they agree to the trade?
