As the 2022 NBA Draft slowly approaches, more names have been linked to the San Antonio Spurs in recent weeks. They'll have three picks in this year's draft; currently projected to be the 6th, 32nd, and 42nd picks. Armed with three great picks, San Antonio will have plenty of options to choose from in a good draft class

For instance, they could use their lottery pick to address their need at power forward and their two seconds to add more shooting. Or they could look to consolidate their picks to try and move up higher into the lottery or even look to add a second first-rounder. With that being said, let’s take a look at four rumored Spurs targets and whether they should draft or pass on them as of now.

1. Shaedon Sharpe, Kentucky

Shaedon Sharpe has yet to play a game for Kentucky and may not actually suit up for them this season, which makes evaluating him more difficult. That said, the 6 '6 guard has been projected to be selected by the Spurs in the lottery.

Based on what I've seen of Sharpe, he's definitely a lottery talent. After all, he's a big guard, a great athlete, looks comfortable playing with the ball in his hands, has deep range, and can bomb it. Those skills could translate well to the NBA but San Antonio already has Dejounte Murray, Derrick White, Lonnie Walker, Joshua Primo, and Tre Jones, so they appear set at guard.

However, I could see the team being open to trading White this offseason and also moving on from Walker. In that case, it could make sense to draft another guard, but maybe not in the top 10 unless they're sure he can be Murray’s co-star. I don't think he's that, so the Spurs should pass on Sharpe.
