The brutal 10-game stretch that will make or break the Spurs season

The 2024–2025 NBA season is less than two months away, and it can't get here fast enough. After the Spurs' general manager, Brian Wright, tweaked the roster, the excitement to see this team on the floor is through the roof. The additions of Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes are just what last year's youngest roster in the league needed; no doubt they'll significantly impact the year.

But the projections for how good this team can be are all over the place. While many have San Antonio residing at the bottom of the always-stacked Western Conference again, others feel that this team's growth, led by an assumed leap in Victor Wembanyama's evolution, puts them in a position to challenge for a play-in spot. It's certainly on the table, but navigating the West is never easy, so it will likely come down to the wire, and every game will matter.

Spurs final 10 games of the season

- March 27 @ Cleveland Cavaliers
- March 29 vs. Boston Celtics
- March 30 vs. Golden State Warriors
- April 2 @ Denver Nuggets
- April 4 vs Cleveland Cavaliers
- April 6 @ Portland Trail Blazers
- April 8 @ LA Clippers
- April 9 @ Golden State Warriors
- April 11 @ Phoenix Suns
- April 13 vs Toronto Raptors

The Spurs' end-of-season stretch could determine if they get into the postseason

This is an unbelievably difficult ending to the regular season. The veteran leadership of Chris Paul (if he's still on the roster) and Harrison Barnes will be more important than ever here. Throwing Portland in the middle and Toronto at the end is barely a reprieve from the gauntlet of superstars the Spurs will have to face relentlessly. To add insult to injury, there are two back-to-backs to be worried about, and San Antonio will have to face the Warriors on the tail end of both of them.

If there's one thing the Silver and Black fans know about Wembanyama thus far, it's that he loves a challenge. He'll step up and perform. But the team as a whole must be prepared to bring their A-game every night with high attention to detail. It could be the difference in San Antonio's first playoff appearance in half a decade.
